Russian Defense Minister Shoigu said that the Russian Federation will not use nuclear weapons.

Russia uses nuclear weapons only to deter a nuclear attack. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Shoigu.

Shoigu said that information about the possible use of nuclear weapons by Russia is absurd.

At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it would not be able to ensure the safety of the delegation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) if the delegation traveled through Kyiv.

A trip by the delegation of the International Atomic Energy Agency to the Zaporozhye NPP through Kyiv, and then through the line of contact, would be very dangerous, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Across the front line is a huge risk, given that the Ukrainian armed forces are heterogeneous armed formations. These people will be ready to commit any provocation,” the Russian media quoted a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying.

In this case, anything could happen if the IAEA delegation went across the front line. In this case, we, the Russian side, cannot ensure their safety in any way,” the Russian Foreign Ministry added.

Earlier, the representative of the UN Secretary-General Stéphane Dujarric said that the UN can assist in the trip of the IAEA to the Zaporozhye NPP.

Recall that the military of the Russian Federation militarized the occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP and are shelling the plant.
