Russia recognizes Azov as a terrorist organization
The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized the Azov battalion as a terrorist organization and banned its activities on the territory of the Russian Federation.
This is reported by the Russian propaganda media RIA Novosti.
The Supreme Court recognized the Azov battalion as a terrorist organization and banned it in Russia. The decision is subject to execution immediately, without waiting for the entry into force, RIA Novosti reports.
In turn, the Office of the President reported that the recognition of the Azov regiment as a terrorist organization is legal nonsense. According to him, such a decision is a purely internal propaganda product and does not affect anything.
It sounds a little strange: a country that is one step away from being recognized as a sponsor of terrorism and which violates any rules and customs of warfare, recognizes someone as a terrorist organization... Any decisions in Russian jurisdictions regarding Ukraine or its military personnel will not be have no legal value for the world and will not affect the negotiation process on the exchange of prisoners,” said Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office.
The recognition of the Azov regiment as a terrorist organization on the territory of the Russian Federation actually deprives the Azov members of the status of prisoners of war, removes their immunity, which protects them from criminal prosecution for participating in hostilities.
At the same time, Mikhail Podolyak said that the decisions of the courts of the Russian Federation would not have any consequences in the international legal field.
- The Red Cross made a statement that it did not give security guarantees to the defenders of Azovstal
- Azov officially announced that they already know who is behind the terrorist attack in Olenovka. And they will punish everyone
- Sister of a captive "Azov": we have a lot of complaints against the UN and the Red Cross. They don't do anything at all.
