The Russian Federation is preparing to annex new territories of Ukraine in the near future.
According to The Washington Post , according to intelligence, the Russian Federation intends to hold "referendums" in mid-May, in which residents of Donetsk, Lugansk and, probably, Kherson, "express support for leaving Ukraine and joining Russia."
It is noted that this "could move the conflict into an unpredictable and even more explosive phase."
