Russia attacked Ukraine with hundreds of drones and missiles: the entrance of a multi-storey building collapsed in Kiev

The RBC-Ukraine editorial board has gathered the main facts about the consequences of the large-scale shelling.

What the Russians were hitting with

The attack began yesterday, with waves of Shaheds, which lasted all night from 13 to 14 May, and ended with launches of ballistics, Daggers and cruise missiles by morning.

In total, from 18:00 on 13 May, just after a massive drone strike during the day (almost 800 UAVs), the enemy continued the attack, using 56 missiles and 675 UAVs. Air defence shot down/suppressed 693 targets: 41 missiles and 652 drones of various types.

And in total, the Russians have used more than 1,560 drones against Ukrainian cities and communities since the beginning of yesterday.

Kiev took the brunt of the attack

The capital city took the main blow. There is damage in the city at 20 locations. We are talking about residential buildings, a school, a veterinary clinic and other purely civilian infrastructure.

In Darnytskyi district collapsed structures of a multi-storey building. The whole entrance was destroyed, 18 flats were smashed. There may be people under the rubble.

At the site continues to remove the rubble. A fire broke out at the petrol station as a result of the impact, burning MAFs. Also partially destroyed shopping centre, located next to the 9-storey building.

It was possible to save 27 people. Also rescuers extinguished five cars in the courtyard of a residential building at another address.

Consequences in other districts:

• Obolonsky - hit a 25-storey underbuilding and a flat on the 12th floor, damage to a business centre, parking and non-residential development.
• Dniprovskyi - hit a private residential building, burning garages and cars.
• Goloseevskyi - debris fell on a business centre building.
• Shevchenkivskyi - hit a non-residential building.
• Solomenskyi - fall of debris on the territory of non-residential building.

Local authorities specified that we are talking about 40 victims, among them - a one-month-old baby, who was poisoned by carbon monoxide.

Consequences by region

In addition to the capital city, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Cherkasy, Zaporozhye and Odessa regions were under attack.

Kiev region

All night the enemy terrorised the Kiev region. A total of 7 people were injured in the region, destruction was recorded in 6 districts. Elimination of fires continues on the ground.

Boryspilskyi - 5 injured (among them a 3-year-old child), two people hospitalised with serious injuries. A multi-storey building, a private house, an enterprise and 6 cars were damaged.

• Fastovskyi - 2 women were injured and shocked (assistance was rendered on the spot). A multi-storey house was damaged.
• Buchanskyi - a fire in a warehouse and two cars.
• Brovarskiy - 3 private houses, a business and a car were damaged.
• Obukhivskyi - 3 private houses were damaged.
• Bilotserkivskyi - a private house was damaged.

Poltava region

During the night, the enemy launched a combined strike on the Kremenchug district. There were terrorist attacks on the energy sector in Kremenchug.

As a result of the attack, the technological equipment of an industrial enterprise and vehicles and warehouses of a road transport enterprise were damaged. Destruction and damage to private houses at two locations were also recorded.

About 1000 subscribers in several settlements were left without gas supply.

Cherkassy Oblast

This night was also difficult for Cherkassy region.

Four Russian missiles and 32 enemy UAVs were neutralised over the region.

Odessa region

Port infrastructure and residential buildings in Chernomorsk were hit. The enemy also hit critical infrastructure and Ukrzaliznytsya facilities.

As a result of two waves of attacks, equipment, property and cargo transport were damaged. The resulting fires were liquidated.

Two people were injured. Rescuers, medics and specialised operational services have been working at the scene since the first minutes.

Kharkiv

Russian UAV attacks on Kharkiv have been continuing since the night. This morning the occupants hit Shevchenkivskyi and Saltovskyi districts with drones. In the latter, 7 residential buildings and 2 hostels were damaged.

At least 15 people are known to have been injured.

Chernihiv region

Troops attacked an energy facility in Chernihiv district. As a result, more than 31 thousand subscribers were left without power supply.

Chernigovoblenergo said that power engineers will be able to start emergency recovery work after the security situation improves.
