Romania changes payments to Ukrainian refugees

About 110,000 Ukrainians remain in Romania at the moment.
This was reported by government spokesman Dan Cerbunaru, Digi24 reported.
According to Cerbunaru, the Romanian government has adopted a decree that establishes a "sustainable framework" for supporting Ukrainian refugees.
The decree establishes the possibility of providing a monthly lump sum allowance for a maximum of four consecutive months, starting from May 1, 2023, to cover food and living expenses on Romanian territory for families and singles who benefit from a European solution in this area.
Fixed amounts for food and accommodation will be paid by the unit that provides the accommodation.
The lump sum allowance will be provided "only if the beneficiary provides proof of employment or enrolment of minors in educational institutions". According to Cerbunaru, this is how integration is encouraged.
