Resnikov reacts to Indonesia's "peace plan"
Indonesian Foreign Minister Prabowo Subianto presented a so-called "peace plan" for Ukraine at a summit in Singapore.
Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov has criticized the so-called "peace plan" to settle the military conflict on the territory of our country, and which Indonesia proposed the day before. Reznikov believes that the plan is more similar to Russia's. SCMP writes about it.
I will try to be polite. It looks like a Russian plan, not an Indonesian one," Reznikov said at the Shangri-La Dialogue Forum forum in Singapore.
The minister called Indonesia's initiatives "strange" and pointed out that no one on the Indonesian side had discussed anything with him personally. Reznikov also said that there were many people who wanted to organize "peace talks between Ukraine and Russia", while Ukrainians were asking for weapons to end the war of aggression on the part of Russia as soon as possible.
Reznikov also mentioned China in his speech, which, in his opinion, as an "elder brother" could convince Russia to stop the war.
We shall remind you that Indonesia proposed its so-called "peace plan" for Ukraine. They proposed an immediate cease-fire and cessation of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, the separation of troops on each side by 15 kilometres from the current front line and the creation of a demilitarized zone, and the setting up of a peacekeeping mission under the UN aegis to monitor compliance with the cease-fire regime. Indonesia has also proposed holding a referendum on the disputed territories to "determine the will of the inhabitants".
We would like to point out that Ukraine's only peace plan is to return all its territories and reach the universally recognised 1991 borders.
