Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is ready for talks with Ukraine without preconditions. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said this, citing Putin's statement after a meeting with the US leader's special envoy Steve Whitkoff, TASS reported.
During yesterday's communication with Trump's envoy Whitkoff, Vladimir Putin said that the Russian side is ready to resume the negotiation process with Ukraine without any preconditions," Peskov said.
The day before, Whitkoff visited Russia for the fourth time in the past three months. He and Putin held another meeting in the Kremlin, it lasted three hours. According to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, Whitkoff and Putin discussed the possibility of "resuming direct talks" between Moscow and Kiev. He also announced future meetings between Russian and US representatives at different levels.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with CBS News that Moscow was ready to reach an agreement on Ukraine, but there were details that still needed to be agreed upon.
