Putin called the attack on Israel a "vivid example of the failure of US policy"

Putin made this comment about the Hamas attack on Israel at a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Sudani.

I think many will agree with me that this is a clear example of the failure of the United States policy in the Middle East, which tried to monopolise the settlement. But, unfortunately, they were not concerned about finding compromises for both sides, but instead promoted their own ideas of how it should be done, put pressure on both sides," Putin said.

He said the US did not take into account "the fundamental interests of the Palestinian people."

The US, European Union and Britain condemned the Hamas attack on Israel.
