South Korea admits North Korea attacked using Hamas tactics

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff told the National Assembly's National Defence Committee that North Korea is preparing for the possibility of a surprise attack using Hamas tactics in attacking Israel.
The head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Kang Shin-chul, delivered a report on "Lessons learnt from the war between Israel and Hamas and countermeasures". This was reported by YNA.co.kr.
In his assessment, Israel's technological border system was neutralised and intelligence agencies such as the Mossad failed to predict the surprise attack
Kang Shin-chul said North Korea could occupy the border area and take hostages to increase tensions and start negotiations.
It is also expected that surveillance systems could be bypassed by mobilising civilian equipment, and in particular, attempts to attack information surveillance satellites could be made using underground facilities or civilian equipment.
Director Kang also reported on measures to counter North Korea's surprise attack methods, such as long-range artillery, infiltration units, and drones.
