President of Germany arrived to Kyiv

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier wrote about this on his page on social networks. He reported:

My message to Ukrainians: we are not only next to you. But we will continue to support Ukraine - humanitarianly, economically, politically, and also militarily.

Steinmeier came first of all to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The meeting of the heads of the two states is to take place in the evening.

The German President and Zelensky should make a joint appeal to German cities and municipalities calling for new partnerships with Ukrainian municipalities in the near future and to help the people who live there survive the winter.

Steinmeier was supposed to meet with Zelensky in Kyiv last Thursday. However, he canceled the visit because the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of the Interior, as well as the Federal Police and other authorities, apparently had concerns about the politician's safety.
