Grants valid for a year.

Japan will pay companies for the employment of immigrants from Ukraine. At the same time, companies hiring Ukrainian immigrants will be eligible for grants of up to 600,000 yen (140,000 hryvnias), writes Japan Today .

There is also a system of subsidies for employment, which will be paid to firms that usually hire people for a period of three months. This is primarily about those who cannot get a stable job, for example, long-term unemployed, who are not yet working and not studying at the same time. Subsidies for businesses employing such people will amount to 120,000 yen per worker for a maximum of three months.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Japan, 1,055 migrants from Ukraine have arrived. Refugees accepted by Japan receive a one-year visa to stay in the country.

Of these, 752 have the appropriate visa ("designated activities" visa), allowing them to work for up to a year.

Another 211 have short-term residence visas that allow them to stay in Japan for 90 days upon arrival, and these visas can then be automatically converted to annual employment visas.

The Japanese government has set up a task force to coordinate the work of accepting Ukrainian refugees and helping them find housing, jobs and language support. More than a dozen prefectures have already offered to help, including Tokyo and Osaka, which have provided 100 public housing units for evacuees and are offering assistance with appliances, food, clothing and employment support.

Refugees from Ukraine in Japan receive the right to live, state health insurance and open a bank account.

Japan has a limit on the number of people who can enter the country in one day, but Ukrainian evacuees are not subject to the entry limit.
