Colonel Mehdi Mollashahi represented the Salman Corps in Sistan and Baluchistan, a provincial regional formation of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

On October 25, the Iranian agency Tasnim indeed reported the death of Colonel Mehdi Mollashakhi and another Iranian security official, Lieutenant Colonel Javad Kih.

However, in its report on the deaths of two Iranian soldiers, Tasnim does not mention the involvement of the dead in the supply of drones to Russia.

The information that two liquidated soldiers were in charge of deliveries of drones to the Russian Federation was published only by Israeli Channel 9 without any evidence:

According to unverified reports, Colonel Mehdi Mollashakhi was responsible for the supply of Iranian drones to Russia.

Novoye Vremya wrote in its investigative article:

So far, unconfirmed information about a possible connection between Mollashakhi and the sale of Shahed-136 drones in the Russian Federation quickly spread in Ukrainian social networks . For example, Andrei Tsaplienko mentioned this when he posted a photo from the scene of the murder of Mollashakhi.

Meanwhile, many other Middle Eastern (Arab News ) and even the Israeli media ( Times of Israel ), reporting on the murder of Mollashakhi , also make no mention of any role of the colonel in coordinating the sale of Shahed-136 drones to Russia.

The publication believes that the Israeli media, not unreasonably, could have reported deliberately incorrect information about the death of two allegedly responsible for the supply of drones to the Russian Federation, since earlier the Israeli media "fueled" the protests in Iran and supported the opposition to the authorities.

Novoye Vremya believes that although the role of the murdered Colonel Mehdi Mollashakhi in supplying Russia with Shahed-136 drones remains unconfirmed, the IRGC forces are indeed involved in this Iranian assistance to the Russian army - but in a slightly different way.

Novoe Vremya reports, citing previously published data from the Institute for the Study of War and the New York Times, that Iranian instructors stationed in Crimea and Belarus are helping Russian servicemen use Iranian kamikaze drones, thereby contributing to Russia's war crimes.

New Times writes:

The ISW made this assumption based on the fact that it is the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps forces that are the main operator of the UAVs in Iran - therefore the Iranian instructors with whom the Russian Federation cooperates are likely to represent the IRGC or are associated with it.
