On Sunday, 17 March, Polish farmers began to block the border with Germany - the blockade will last four days. This is reported by DW.

Farmers will close all traffic lanes in both directions. In this regard, the Polish and German authorities expect significant traffic jams on the roads.

As DW writes, the border crossing, which blocked the Poles, is located on the autobahn, which connects Berlin and Warsaw. About 17 thousand lorries move between Germany and Poland every day.

Earlier, on 15 March, Polish farmers also blocked the border crossing point Hizhne on the border with Slovakia.

Polish farmers have been protesting for several months. Among the protesters' demands are the cancellation or easing of restrictions imposed by the EU Green Deal plan aimed at combating climate change and the return of customs duties on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine, which Brussels cancelled even after Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine in 2022.
