Patriarch cannot stoop to Putin's altar boy - Pope on Kirill

Pope Francis had a conversation with Russian Patriarch Kirill.
As the Pope said in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, he talked with Cyril for forty minutes on Zoom.
For the first twenty minutes, he read from a piece of paper in his hand, all the reasons that explain the large-scale invasion of Ukraine. I listened to him, and then answered: “I don’t understand any of this. Brother, we are not state clerks, we must say no in the language of politics, but in the language of Jesus. We are shepherds of the same holy flock of God. For the same reason, we must look for a way to peace, we must stop hostilities. A patriarch cannot stoop to Putin's altar boy," Pope Francis said .
