Odessa student was preparing an environmental terrorist attack on behalf of Russian Federation

The SBU cyber specialists have detained an FSB agent whose main task was to identify and transmit coordinates where toxic substances are stored, in particular warehouses and storage facilities with pesticides. This is reported by the SBU.

On the specified geolocations the occupants planned to carry out air attacks with the use of missile weapons and kamikaze drones of Shahed type, - reported in the special service.

According to the available data, the enemy hoped to provoke an environmental disaster in the region and thus shake up the internal situation.

To collect information, the figure began to work as a taxi driver and under the guise of transporting passengers recorded the locations of "necessary" objects.

As a result of a multi-stage special operation, the SBU officers documented the criminal actions of the FSB agent step by step and detained him while performing the task.

The agent turned out to be a student of Odessa University. In autumn 2023, he was remotely contacted by a FSB officer, whose identity has already been identified by the SBU cyber specialists.

Based on the collected evidence, the SBU investigators informed him of suspicion under part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).

The investigation is ongoing. The attacker faces life imprisonment.
