Lashes, bobs and art manicures: what trends set the New York catwalks
11:30, 04.10.2025

Twice a year, New York Fashion Week becomes not only a platform for showcasing fashion collections, but also a source of inspiration for the beauty industry.

The catwalk shows of the spring-summer season 2026 surprised with a variety of beauty trends, Elle reports.

If in previous seasons viewers complained about the abundance of "clean make-up", this time the emphasis was on brightness, glamour and bold images.

On the catwalks you could see everything from blue shadows and gold accents to multi-layered haircuts and unusual nail art. These ideas promise to go beyond the catwalks and into everyday beauty routines.

Sky blue shadows
Pastel and rich shades of blue became one of the main discoveries of the season. At the Private Philippines show, models wore a light veil of blue shadows, while in the Jane Wade collection they wore silver-blue highlights on their temples, creating an almost fantastical look. Legendary make-up artist Pat McGrath created a make-up look at the Anna Sui show with sky blue lashes and glowing eyelids inspired by the "bohemian spirit of the 1920s".

Lashes are back in the spotlight
For the past few years, eyelash fashion has been minimalist, but now the emphasis is making a comeback. At the Collina Strada show, make-up artist Isamaya French decorated the corners of the models' eyes with coloured false lashes in the shape of 'wings'. At the Eckhaus Latta and Jane Wade shows, models with white lashes were seen - a fresh interpretation of the "ghost lashes" trend.

Gold make-up is a symbol of luxury
Gold was another key accent. At the Luar and Elena Velez shows, models came out with gold-covered lips, reminiscent of jewellery. Ulla Johnson showed gold arrows and eyelashes, while Theophilio showed gold-encrusted eyelids. Even the nails were not left out: at the Grace Ling show, gold elements were added to the manicure.

Bob haircut and fringes in 70s style
The main hair trend is the bob, which once again confirmed its status as the most fashionable cut. At Christian Cowan, models appeared with graphic asymmetric bobs, at Sandy Liang with soft Hollywood waves and at the Coach show with street-inspired textured styles.

Fringes were no less popular. They were combined with bobs, as at Tanner Fletcher and Sandy Liang, or left more natural, as at Calvin Klein and Tory Burch.

Manicure as jewellery
The clean nails trend gave way to expressive designs. At the Batsheva x Patricia Nash Designs show, models showed polka dot manicures. At The Blonds and Luar, nails turned into real jewellery with crystals and rhinestones. Manicure became an integral part of the image, comparable to clothes and accessories.

New York Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2026 showed that a new stage is beginning in the world of beauty. Minimalism gives way to bold solutions that emphasise individuality. Blue shadows, bright lashes, gold accents, stylish beanies and art manicures - all this defines the new face of modern glamour.
