- Some cars can be imported into Ukraine without duties
Cars for the front also do not need to be taxed.
The government allowed the import of electric vehicles into Ukraine without paying taxes. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in an interview with Lb.ua.
He noted that in this way, the government intends to encourage Ukrainians to buy electric vehicles, since it is much more environmentally friendly and budget-friendly, especially in war conditions.
We have already faced a fuel crisis after the Russians smashed our storage facilities, our refineries, even gas stations. Therefore, electric vehicles are a priority, and we politically give such a signal and form an opportunity,” the prime minister explained.
Shmyhal recalled that cars for the front also do not need to be taxed. They are brought into the country as humanitarian aid.
If we are transporting a diesel or gasoline car for the front, it is also not subject to VAT or duty. He's coming in as a humanitarian. Therefore, we have all the possibilities for the front, as it was before, - the head of government emphasized.
Recall that in Ukraine from July 1, previously canceled customs duties, excises and 20% VAT on imported goods were returned. In particular, we are talking about the import of cars by citizens.
By July 1, a total of 240 thousand cars were imported without duties.
