In Poltava region, veterans with their families can undergo free rehabilitation in sanatoria

Talking to a psychologist, receiving counselling from social work specialists and spending this time close to the family - this is how the pilot project "Social Recovery" works.
The initiative is part of the implementation of the social adaptation service, which is implemented by the Ministry of Social Policy together with regional administrations. This was reported in the Ministry of Social Policy.
The opportunity to take part in the project has already received 15 families of veterans, who were demobilised for health reasons, - the report says.
Under the project, veterans together with their families - husband or wife and children - underwent free rehabilitation in one sanatorium of Poltava region - on the basis of Mirgorodkurort, where the pilot was launched.
For 10 days, participants received counselling from social work specialists, for example, on retraining or employment, receiving benefits and payments. There was also an opportunity to work with a psychologist - personally or in small groups," the Ministry of Social Policy said.
The children were also organised classes with social pedagogues and child psychologists. Now the programme is continuing, and new families have already joined it.
To take part in the Social Rehabilitation Programme, veterans or their families in Poltava region should apply to the territorial subdivision of the Department of Social Protection of Population in Poltava region.
