An evader was arrested in Kirovohrad region

This is reported by the press service of Kirovograd regional Prosecutor's office.

a 32-year-old man came on a summons for general mobilisation to the district tercentre of manning in December 2022. He stated that he refused to serve. At the same time, the man had no right to deferment.

The court of first instance found the evader guilty under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and imposed a sentence of 3 years' imprisonment, however, on the basis of Article 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine he was released from serving the appointed punishment for a period of 2 years, - stated in the message.

Prosecutors did not agree with the verdict and appealed for a stricter punishment. The Court of Appeal granted the petition and imposed a new punishment on the accused - imprisonment for 3 years with real serving of the term (Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It is noted that in Kirovohrad region this is the first sentence of imprisonment of an evader from military service.
