The girl won among 2,600 children from 63 countries.

This was reported on the Zhytomyr OVA's telegram channel.

The French rocket Ariane 5, which will go into space as part of the Juice mission, will take off from a European spaceport in French Guiana. The rocket will carry a drawing by Yaryna Zakalyuzhnaya, an 8-year-old girl from Zhytomyr, who won the international drawing competition of the European Space Agency in 2021. Zakalyuzhnaya won among 2600 children from 63 countries.

In her winning entry, Yaryna drew a picture of the planet Earth giving Jupiter a ship that will explore it, while the satellites watch the flight with excitement. Now one of the girl's dreams is to await the completion of the mission, which will last until 2031 and expect to arrive on Earth, on the occasion of her 18th birthday.

The Juice programme is a mission to the deepest part of the solar system. After an eight-year voyage to Jupiter, the spacecraft will make detailed observations of the gas giant and its three major satellites: Ganymede, Callisto and Europa. The mission will update data on Jupiter's satellites with a powerful suite of instruments to learn more about these celestial bodies as potential habitats for life.
