The Ukrainian IT industry demonstrated outstanding resilience during the war.

Men from the IT industry may be allowed to travel abroad during martial law. The decision is planned to be considered in the coming days. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation for IT Development Alexander Bornyakov in an interview for ICTV Facts.

The problem of going abroad, as Bornyakov noted, is becoming more and more urgent.

Personal contact is very important. There are things like conferences, business forums that you need to attend, showcase your business and attract new customers. It could have been postponed for a month or two, but now the situation is such that there is nowhere to put it off, - explained the deputy head of the Ministry of Digital Development.

He also noted that the Ukrainian IT industry demonstrated outstanding stability during the war. About 70% of companies working in this area were able not only to survive during the war, but also to increase production volumes. At the same time, after February 24, new jobs were created in them, which ultimately led to an increase in tax revenues from the IT business.

We can say that today we see IT as one of the key sectors of the Ukrainian economy, - said Oleksandr Bornyakov.

In such a situation, Bornyakov believes, the state should ensure the most favorable climate for this industry so that it creates new jobs and brings revenue to the budget.

To date, an understanding has already been reached with the Ministry of Defense, the General Staff and the Ministry of Economy on the need for such trips.

And in the coming days, a mechanism will appear that will regulate the trips of IT specialists abroad. They will not be allowed to leave permanently, but for a certain period of time: probably for two or three weeks,” he added.

In addition, in parallel, a mechanism is being developed for booking key employees of IT companies from being drafted into the army. They will bring much more benefit to the country in civilian life than at the front, an official of the Ministry of Digital Development is convinced.
