Ministry of Defence of Belarus confirmed the presence of mercenaries from the Russian PMC Wagner on the territory of the Republic. The ministry specified that they were placed in a field camp, located near the town of Osipovichi in Mahiliou voblast. This is reported in the official Telegram of the press service of the Department
It is specified that those began training of the Belarusian military.
Military conscripts master the skills of movement on the battlefield and tactical shooting, as well as knowledge of engineering training and tactical medicine. PMC Wagner fighters acted as instructors in a number of military disciplines," reads the statement of the press service of the Belarusian Defence Ministry.
The exact number of Russian mercenaries is not specified. However, as previously reported by the monitoring group Belaruski Gayun, a field camp for 8 thousand people was equipped in Belarus.
According to the agreement with the self-proclaimed Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, the head of PMC Wagner Yevgeni Prigozhin was supposed to go to Belarus with some of his mercenaries after the rebellion in Russia.
