Lithuanian Ministry of Culture proposes a "break" from Russian culture

Many European countries should limit themselves to Russian culture.
This was reported by the Delfi portal.
Lithuanian Culture Minister Simonas Kairys recently made such a statement. He said that during the war in Ukraine "we should take a break" from the creations of Russian culture.
First we have to hear what Minister of Culture of Ukraine Aleksandr Tkachenko said recently. He expressed the hope that at least during the war we should refrain from showing classical works in Europe as well. It is quite an honest position.
The Minister emphasized that this proposal concerns first of all not Lithuania, but some European countries.
We have countries in Europe where we see certain works returning to repertoires.
According to Simonas Kairys, such statements by Tkachenko or other representatives of Ukraine are a reminder of the instability in the world and not to return to what is business and usual.
In addition, the official believes that at least in Lithuania the issue of Russian culture will soon cease to be relevant at all.
Lithuania is on such a path that the need for Russian culture is decreasing. This happens for natural reasons. Of course, because of the war. And because of changes in society. If we talk about the change of generations, young people do not speak Russian and this culture is not the focus of attention.
It is worth noting that some European countries still continue to tolerate Russian culture, such as Austria or Germany, where there are close and political ties with the terrorist state.
