Trains will start running again between Ukraine and Moldova


Ukraine and Moldova will resume railway communication on the Berezino-Bessarabka section.
The heads of the infrastructure ministries of Ukraine and Moldova, Oleksandr Kubrakov and Andriy Spinu, signed a memorandum of understanding providing for the resumption of train traffic from the Berezina in the Odessa region to the Moldovan Bessarabka. This is reported by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Moldova.
Later, the Bessarabka-Berezino railway will start working again, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Moldova noted.
They noted that trains will begin to run between the countries this autumn.
According to the memorandum, Moldova and Ukraine intend to rebuild this section of the railway, 23 kilometers long, by autumn. Most of it is located on the territory of Ukraine and only 1.2 kilometers - on the territory of Moldova.
At the same time, it is noted that Moldova plans to export and import goods after the resumption of railway communication through the Ukrainian port of Izmail on the Danube. And Ukraine will be able to establish imports to Moldova and the EU.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, there are now more than 70,000 refugees in Moldova, including not only Ukrainians, but also citizens of other countries who arrived from Ukraine. As of June 23, 616 Ukrainian refugees found jobs in Moldova. We are talking about 478 women and 138 men, most of them work in Chisinau.
