The Belarusian dictator asked that the Russian Federation defend Belarus as its own territory.

This was reported by Belarusian propaganda publications.

According to the reports, unrecognised Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenka met with Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoyga in Minsk.

The conversation concerns "security guarantees" for Belarus. Lukashenko said:

When we parted after our last talks with Vladimir Vladimirovich (Vladimir Putin, the Russian dictator - ed.), we agreed that you and your experts would come to Belarus and we would sit down with you and discuss security issues for Belarus. You know, I already raised this issue at the Supreme State Council. But before that we discussed it with Vladimir Vladimirovich.

Lukashenko complained to Shoygu that the West was allegedly failing to honour the security guarantees that had been provided under the Budapest Memorandum. In addition, there were complaints that the West had started imposing sanctions against Russia and Belarus because of the war against Ukraine.

As a result, the Belarusian dictator asked that the Russian Federation defend Belarus as its own territory.
