"Litokryl": a centre to support children was opened in Kyiv

The Litokryl Centre provides free psychological counselling to children, their parents and guardians.
In Kyiv opened a space of psycho-emotional support "Litokryl" for children affected by the war. This is reported by Socialportal.
"Litokryl" is the third centre of the charitable foundation RescueNow. Two of them work in Kharkiv, the third one opened in Kyiv in partnership with the humanitarian foundation Never Give Up.
It is designed primarily for families who have left their homes because of the war and started life anew, in new and difficult circumstances.
Many families have fled occupied territories or bombings. After that they have to adjust to living in a big foreign city, to find a job, a school or day care centre, friends.
It is difficult not only for parents, but also for children, who often cannot tell their mum and dad how they really feel after the experience," says Olga Kabanets, curator of the project.
Litokryl was created for such children, which helps them to socialise and receive individual psychological support.
The space of the centre has three rooms, two for group classes and one for psychological sessions. All sessions are timetabled to suit the number of children and age range: groups from 4 to 7 years old, 8-11 and 12-16 years old.
During games, art and fairy-tale therapy, the project team helps children to relieve tension, distract themselves from traumas and find creative self-expression.
Various workshops are held weekly: theatre studios, mixed martial arts, origami, plastilinography, cooking, media school to learn about television and filming children's news.
There are also school preparation classes for the youngest ones on logic, memory and attention.
Since most of the resettled people do not seek psychological help and experience everything on their own, Lithokryl is assisted by qualified psychologists. They work with anxiety and depression of children and parents in groups and individually.
"Litokryl" is located at Chikalenko, 25 (2 minutes from the metro station "Teatralnaya", where you can take shelter in case of anxiety).
You can find out the schedule of classes and workshops, as well as sign up for psychologists' consultations via the project's Telegram channel or by phone +38 063 408 80 55.
