The SBU has detained an occupiers' lawyer who "rewrote" the property of the Kherson seaport to the balance of the "Saldo administration" during the occupation of the city.

The SBU has detained an accomplice of the occupiers as a result of stabilisation measures in liberated Kherson. This was reported by the SBU.

The attacker turned out to be a local lawyer, who after the capture of the city supported the Russian invaders and later got a job in the local occupation administration of the Russian Federation.

He became the head of the "bureau of technical inventory" (BTI) created by the aggressor. According to available information, the collaborator was appointed to this "position" under the personal patronage of Gauleiter Saldo," the SBU said.

The defendant was engaged in the "re-registration" of the property of the then seized Kherson seaport to the "balance" of the occupation "Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation".

The lawyer was also directly involved in the illegal "inventory" of the local municipal enterprise "City Road Department" and the transfer of its fixed assets to the occupants.

In addition, the collaborator urged local residents to join the ranks of the Russian occupation authorities, for which he promised "Russian salaries" and loyal attitude of the occupants.

After the liberation of Kherson, the defendant tried to flee from justice. SBU officers established his whereabouts and detained him. The SBU investigators informed him of suspicion under part 1 of article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (aiding and abetting the aggressor state).

The investigation is continuing to establish all the circumstances of the offence. The attacker faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
