Kellogg offered advice on how to work with Trump

The special envoy stressed that the US president is really annoyed by Russia's behaviour.
Donald Trump's special envoy Keith Kellogg has given the main advice for those who work with the US leader. According to him, the most dangerous thing is to make the president feel that he is being manipulated. US special envoy Keith Kellogg said at the annual YES 2025 conference.
Never put him in a position where he thinks he is being taken advantage of. That's the worst thing that can happen," Kellogg emphasised.
He noted that the topic of Trump and Vladimir Putin's interaction remains in the spotlight. Their summit in Alaska on 15 August focused on Russia's war against Ukraine. However, the negotiation process between the Kremlin and Kiev is stalling despite the White House's attempts to advance the dialogue.
You know, under the Biden administration, they didn't even talk to Putin. President Trump is a firm believer in personal diplomacy, and he did sit him down and talk to him. And convincing him to sit down and interview him, even if you hate each other fiercely, that means a lot," Kellogg said.
Trump is pushing to organise a direct meeting between Zelensky and Putin, but Moscow has effectively denied the promises the US leader says Putin has made.
Asked if Trump is really losing patience with Putin, Kellogg said the latter is really annoyed.
One thing I would and do advise anyone who works with President Trump: don't put him in a position where he thinks he's being taken advantage of. That's probably the worst position he could be in," the special envoy concluded.
