- Canada introduces new programme for Ukrainian refugees

Ukrainian refugees who have found asylum in Canada will be able to obtain residency status. This became possible thanks to the new immigration program for Ukrainian refugees from the Canadian government.
Immigration Minister Sean Fraser said.
We continue to provide unwavering support and a lifeline to families divorced by this conflict, including through this family reunification pathway, which will help Ukrainian families stay together as they resume their lives in their new communities in Canada," the Minister said.
Consequently, Ukrainians with temporary status and one or more family members living in Canada will be eligible for residency status. For example, spouses, civil partners, parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters, children of a permanent resident of Canada.
The programme is scheduled to launch in October 2023.
It is noted that since March 2022 in Canada received temporary asylum more than 166 000 Ukrainians.
Earlier Socialportal reported that for Ukrainian refugees in the EU extended free roaming. The agreement is valid between 22 European and 7 Ukrainian operators. Also Israel extended the validity of visas until the end of January 2024 and simplified employment for Ukrainian citizens.
