Hypertensive patients and diabetics may face a shortage of medicines.

In the near future, Ukrainians may face the problem of a shortage of medicines, which means that a wave of exacerbations of diseases should be expected in the country. The President of the All-Ukrainian Council for the Protection of the Rights and Safety of Patients Viktor Serdyuk warns about this on his Facebook page .

He drew attention to the fact that after the Rada banned the supply of medicines from Russia and Belarus, the Ministry of Health has not yet published a list of medicines that fall under this ban.

In 2019, more than 50 thousand patients with epilepsy were registered in Ukraine. Hypertensive disease - millions of people take medicines that are carefully selected and keep the pressure normal. That's millions of people again! Their health is under threat, - says Sordyuk.

According to him, it takes time, doctors, tests to replace medicines.

Millions of people cannot quickly go to the hospital and stay in the hospital for a week or more, so that the doctors correctly, according to the treatment protocols, select the replacement of drugs, the dose, and check the patients for allergies, Serdyuk noted.

According to him, in the EU, to which we have become a candidate for membership, in the event of a possible lack of medicines, they are warned six months in advance.

They begin to inform patients and doctors, and the replacement of the drug, its dose is gradually selected, and the effectiveness is checked. How to make the replacement of hundreds of medicines in Ukraine, in the middle of a war, with torn logistics, destroyed or overcrowded hospitals, he said.

Viktor Serdyuk says that the Ministry of Health is already looking for a way out of the situation, thinking about the so-called "green corridors" for certain drugs. He also predicts that government regulation could lead to shortages, rising prices and hype.

Have you calculated that it is possible to ban only after substitute drugs are already available in the right amount in Ukraine? Otherwise, there will be a shortage, hype, price increases,” predicts Viktor Serdyuk.

Recall that the Verkhovna Rada has limited the circulation of medicines produced in Russia or Belarus. A total of 299 parliamentarians voted for the adoption of the bill. They are invited to establish that state registration may be denied or canceled if it is revealed that one, several or all stages of the production of a medicinal product are carried out by enterprises whose production facilities are located on the territory of the aggressor state (Russia or Belarus).
