Journalists revealed how much Bezos spent on the wedding

American entrepreneur and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has married former TV presenter Lauren Sanchez.
One of the richest people on the planet, the founder of Amazon Jeff Bezos, played a wedding with TV presenter Lauren Sanchez in the luxurious atmosphere of Venice. According to Reuters, the massive celebration cost the couple up to $56 million.
The wedding events took place from 26 to 28 June, and the official date of the ceremony was 27 June. According to the tabloid Page Six, the couple pre-registered the marriage in the U.S., and in Italy arranged only the solemn part.

About 200 guests were invited to the celebration, including world-class celebrities: Ivanka Trump, daughter of the American president, with her husband Jared Kushner, billionaire Bill Gates, actor Leonardo DiCaprio and other business and show business stars.

The head of the Veneto region, Luca Zaia, told Reuters that a wedding of this scale in Venice could cost between $47 million and $56 million. Italy's Ministry of Tourism estimated the economic impact of the event at $1.12 billion - including revenues from the hotel industry, the service sector and global PR.
However, not everyone took the event with enthusiasm. There were protests in Venice: local residents expressed their discontent, claiming that Bezos "privatised the city", and holding such a large-scale event could damage the fragile ecosystem of the historic centre. As a result, the billionaire had to move the main part of the celebration to a more remote area of the city to reduce social tension.
Note, Lauren Sanchez changed her name on her Instagram page. She is now Lauren Sanchez Bezos.
Jeff Bezos founded the companies Amazon and Blue Origin. He is ranked fourth on Forbes' list of millaires, with a fortune of $234 billion. Sanchez is a former Emmy Award-winning television host. Their engagement took place in 2023. This is not the first marriage for either of them.
