Many countries that are part of the Alliance believe that an attack by Putin's Russia is possible.

Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson believes that Russia under Putin's presidency could attack NATO member states.

Yes, he could attack. I think that cannot be ruled out," Johnson noted.

He pointed out that the Kremlin's aggression towards the West is also indicated by Putin's interview the previous day with American journalist Tucker Carlson.

For example, I didn't like the way he talked about Poland in his terrible interview. And I think he might try to do something like that," Johnson explained.

At the same time, Johnson emphasised that much will depend on how the situation in Ukraine unfolds.

The chances of a Russian attack on NATO states will increase if Putin succeeds in Ukraine," the politician pointed out.

Johnson stressed that only Putin's defeat in the war against Ukraine could guarantee to Western countries that Russia would not invade their territory.
