Israel has officially declared war. What it means

The death toll in Israel from the Hamas attack has surpassed 600.
Israel's political-military cabinet supported the introduction of paragraph 40 Aleph, which means a formal declaration of war. This clause has not been introduced in the country since 1973. This is reported by Israel's state radio station Kan and military observer Sergei Auslender in his Telegram channel.
It is noted that the Israeli military has the right to act at its discretion, but to report to the top leadership.
It is reported that the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Security Committee will hold a special hearing tomorrow morning to approve the mobilisation of the reserve.
Israel Defence Forces spokesman Richard Hecht said that in the next 12 hours, Eruzlaim plans to launch a military operation that will end the Gaza enclave.
We have goals for the next 12 hours. To put an end to the Gaza enclave. To take control of the entire enclave and destroy all terrorists in our territory," he said.
Note that yesterday, 7 October, Hamas attacked Israel. After a large-scale rocket attack on the country, the militants infiltrated the territory of Sderot, a small town in the Southern District.
Israel declared a "state of war" and launched counter-terrorism operation Iron Swords.
The death toll in Israel has surpassed 600. Israel is evacuating people en masse. The country's army spokesman said that within 24 hours residents of the territories bordering the Gaza Strip should leave their homes. The same call applies to residents of northern border communities.
Meanwhile, Abu Obeida, a spokesman for Hamas' military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, issued a new statement calling on everyone to "join this battle."
A few hours ago, the Al-Qassam Brigades said in its Telegram feed that it "launched a major rocket attack on the Sderot settlement, firing one hundred rockets."
