- It has become known how many Ukrainians have lost their homes because of the war started by Russia

Russian invaders attack peaceful Ukrainian towns and villages with missiles and drones on a daily basis, destroying the homes of Ukrainians.
About four million Ukrainian citizens have lost their homes completely or partially as a result of the Russian aggression. This was reported by the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the Protection of the Rights of Internally Displaced Persons on Friday, 13 September.
It is said that this refers to those citizens of the country whose homes were occupied by the Russians and those whose homes Russian terrorists destroyed with their shelling.
Four million Ukrainians who found themselves under the open sky because of Russian aggression - this is more than, for example, the population of Croatia," the Rada noted.
At the beginning of 2024 in the total amount of direct damage from the war, the share of the loss of housing in Ukraine was 58.9 billion dollars.
Among the regions most affected by the destruction of housing are Donetsk, Kyiv, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Mykolayiv, Chernihiv, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions.
According to the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), as of mid-February 2024, there were 6.479 million refugees outside Ukraine's borders. The lion's share of them - more than 6 million - are in Europe, while 5.809 million Ukrainians have received temporary protection there. Many of them have nowhere to return to.
