The head of intelligence reported how many occupiers surrender voluntarily

Some of the captured Russians do not want to return to their homeland.
Among the captives of Russian invaders in Ukraine, about 20 per cent of those who surrendered to the Defence Forces voluntarily. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, Kyrylo Budanov, said this in an interview with Radio Liberty.
He did not name the total number of Russian prisoners of war and noted that the total number of all Russian prisoners of war in Ukraine, who are then exchanged for our defenders captured by the enemy, is a state secret.
At the same time, Budanov pointed out that the Ukrainian side has a smaller "exchange fund" than Russia.
Because in the first days of the invasion, the Russian Federation took a terrible number of hostages here. Including civilians, retired members of the security forces, just people they considered scary for them. That's why our figures, unfortunately, they are lower, you have to understand that," the head of the GUR said.
Budanov suggested that Ukraine would not be able to "catch up" with the Russians here.
He added that the countries were discussing the issue of exchanging "all for all".
