Death of people due to closed shelter: director of KSCA department suspended


The director of the KSCA department suspected of official negligence because of the death of people at a closed shelter was suspended.
This is reported by the press service of the Kyiv city Prosecutor's office.
Kyiv court of appeal on the appeal of the Prosecutor of Desnyansky district Prosecutor's office of the city of Kyiv cancelled the decision of the court of first instance and suspended the Director of the Department of municipal security of the KSCA, suspected of official negligence, which caused serious consequences, - stated in the message.
Actions of the official qualify under part 2 of article 367 of the Criminal code of Ukraine.
We will remind, during the next Russian shelling on 1 June in Desnyansky district of the capitals killed three people, among them a child. Another seven Kiev citizens received injuries of varying degrees of severity. As it turned out, people were unable to get into shelter during the air alert.
Law enforcers have started criminal proceedings, and the authorities have decided to conduct an audit of all shelters in Ukraine.
The director of the Department of Municipal Security of the KSCA is suspected in the case. He, according to the investigation, improperly performed his official duties and did not actually control the maintenance and state of readiness of shelters. Later, the man was given a second suspicion of embezzlement of budget funds.
