Gas prices in Europe have doubled in a month and a half
Since June 1, the price has doubled - from $923 to $1949 per 1000 cubic meters. meter
This is reported by Finance.ua with reference to the GTS Operator of Ukraine.
“Gazprom continues to make money on the gas market and paralyzes the EU's preparations for the new heating season. The tactics of blackmail and the use of gas as a weapon are currently paying off, but in the future they will lead to the loss of market positions, ”the message says.
It is noted that despite the EU's need for gas, Gazprom refused additional reservations for the Ukrainian GTS during the repair of its gas pipelines - Turkish Stream and Nord Stream 1.
Russia is pumping much less gas through pipelines than it should. Because of this, a deficit is formed and the price of gas rises.
Also, even the already booked and paid capacities of the Ukrainian GTS are not used: out of the available 109 million cubic meters per day, less than 42 million cubic meters are pumped.
“The result of this behavior of the Russians is visible to the naked eye: the price at the European TTF hub has doubled since June 1 - from $923 to $1949 per 1000 cubic meters. m," the OGTSU noted.
