FSB is preparing a coup d'etat in Moldova - WP

Russian Federal Security Service works to overthrow the government in Moldova with the hands of pro-Russian politician Shor - WP.
Due to the active pro-Western course of Moldova, Russian special services intend to overthrow its government, writes The Washington Post , which has studied classified materials obtained by Ukrainian intelligence. According to these data, the Kremlin regime is using the local opposition for this, organizing protests in Chisinau against President Maia Sandu.
The Russian secret services operate according to the same methodology that has been used against Ukraine for the past thirty years: energy blackmail and corruption serve as the main levers for maintaining Moscow's control over the neighboring country.
Russia is banking on 35-year-old Ilan Shor, whose pro-Russian party led earlier anti-government protests in the country. at the same time, the Russian special services are trying to undermine the situation in Moldova, using the dissatisfaction of the population with the increase in energy prices. Since the summer, Shor has been organizing “popular” protests in Chisinau against the rise in prices for gas and electricity, which is deliberately provoked by Russia, and demands to provide Moldova with cheap gas through the normalization of relations with Moscow.
Ilan Shor was a prominent Moldovan businessman, the owner of a bank, a chain of stores, an airport in Chisinau and other assets. In 2015, he became mayor of the Moldovan city of Orhei, but two years later he was found guilty of stealing $1 billion from the Moldovan banking system. In 2019, he left for Israel, from where he continued to lead his party, which in 2021 took 3rd place in the parliamentary elections.
Maia Sandu's government fears that little Moldova may become easier prey for Russia than Ukraine, if the country is left without light and heat in winter. Without effective assistance from the West, the country will not withstand Russian pressure.
