Yevgeny Hudz was born in Borodyanka near Kyiv.
He founded the punk rock band Gogol Bordello in 1999 in New York. "Gogol Bordello" collaborated with Madonna. Together they performed the hit "La Isla Bonita" at the London Live Earth concert on 7 July 2007 at Wembley Stadium.
