Fisherman manicures are the new trend for summer 2025: what is Fisherman Core?

🎣 Catch, style, big and trendy: 'Fisherman Core' is the unexpected nail trend of summer 2025
Forget minimalism - this season, nails have become a real catch! The most unexpected fashion of summer 2025 is a manicure in the style of a fisherman, or, as it is already nicknamed in social networks, Fisherman Core. Blades, fish, neon lures - now all this is not only in the fisherman's box, but also on your nails.
Sound wild? But TikTok, Pinterest, and Etsy are already loving it, writes Vogue.

🎨 How did it all start?
Dallas-based artist Cameron Short, known on Instagram as @reallynichenails, came across a post about fishing on Reddit - and was inspired enough to create an overlay set of nails painted in the shape of... fishing lures.
"I didn't want to just copy someone else's work. I pored over a bunch of photos of real baits, remembered my childhood, pink, yellow, purple baits - and started painting," Cameron says.
Since then, her Etsy shop has been stormed by fans asking, "Make me the same manicure!". And now Fisherman Core is a new microtrend that's conquering Instagram and red carpets.
🐠 Fish are trendy
Another nail artist, Hang Nguyen (@thehangedit), took a more realistic approach to the theme. She depicted a miniature tetra cardinal - the same aquarium fish with a red stripe along its body - on her nail.
"The shape of the fish fits perfectly into the shape of the nail. And with the magnetic polish and chrome, it's easy to convey the shiny scales," she explains.
🎁 A manicure with bait?
Yes, yes, yes, you heard me right. Cameron Short doesn't just sell false nails, she packs them in real fishing boxes, with a couple of real tacks inside! A total dodgy experience, as they say.
Why is this trend so popular?
It's a play on nostalgia: many people have fishing as a childhood memory.
It looks spectacular and unconventional: especially against the backdrop of classic nude designs.
It's fun. And a little crazy - in a good way.
