Finland is preparing the population for a possible war

Finland will update instructions to the public in case of wars and crises.

The Finnish authorities will issue new guidelines for citizens to prepare them for possible war, turmoil and crisis situations. This is reported by Helsingin Sanomat.

It is indicated that the new guidelines will become available to residents of the country in November. At the same time, an intergovernmental project led by the Finnish Ministry of the Interior will launch a website that will contain information on security, war, civil protection, evacuation and national defence.

In addition, the website will indicate how to get psychological help in crisis situations.

The tips are designed to help Finns survive a crisis on their own, if necessary, if the authorities are unable to help them at any given moment," the article said.

Neighbouring Sweden has already updated a brochure for the population with advice on what to do in the event of a crisis or war. It tells how to survive a week without help from the authorities. In particular, it tells where to hide during an air attack, how to help someone with serious bleeding, and what to do if Sweden is attacked with nuclear, chemical or biological weapons. It also gives advice on cyber security.
