European Parliament discusses the possibility of recognizing Russia as a terrorist state

This is reported by the publication Ukrinform with reference to the Polish deputies of the European Parliament.

MEP from Poland Radosław Sikorski said:

There are two definitions of terrorism. The first is the deliberate use of extreme violence to achieve political goals, the second is the attacks of combatants on civilians during an armed conflict. We all know what Putin is doing to Ukrainian cities right now. So Russia fits both definitions.

At the same time, Russia cannot be called a state sponsor of terrorism. Since all crimes are committed by full-time employees of the Russian special services, that is, by the Russian Federation itself.

However, so far the European Parliament has approved a request by a group of European conservatives and reformists to include in the plenary agenda a debate on recognizing the Russian Federation as a state sponsor of terrorism or a terrorist state.

The resolution is expected to be discussed and put to a vote in the European Parliament during the November 21-24 session.
