EU reacts to another Russian attack against Ukraine

Kaya Kallas said she was determined to increase pressure on Moscow.
European Union diplomatic chief Kaja Kallas has sharply condemned Russia's new overnight strike on Ukrainian cities, calling it a "terrorist cover for the failure of the summer offensive".
Russia is covering up its military failures with attacks on civilians and infrastructure. We will support Ukraine for as long as it takes: preparing a new package of sanctions, providing funding, supplying weapons," Callas wrote on social network X.
According to the head of diplomacy, Russia "will not stop until it is forced to".
Last night, Russia launched a massive combined strike on Ukraine. More than 50 missiles, including hypersonic Kinzhals, and about 500 attack drones rained down on Ukrainian regions.
Four people were killed in the Lviv region and four others were injured. In Zaporozhye, residential houses were destroyed - a 69-year-old woman was killed, 10 people were wounded, among them a 16-year-old teenager. There were hits on power facilities in Chernihiv and Vinnitsa regions.
Russia's defence ministry said the strikes targeted "military-industrial facilities and energy infrastructure". However, according to the Ukrainian authorities, the main targets were again residential areas and civilian objects.
