Energoatom: Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, has lied yet again

Yesterday, IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi stated that an expert mission to the Zaporizhzhya NPP was being planned because Europe's largest nuclear power plant had stopped transmitting online data on the state of nuclear materials to the IAEA.

«Ukraine requested us, and we will go there,» he wrote on Twitter.

This is the reaction of Ukrainian Energoatom

We interpret the message from the head of the IAEA as yet another attempt to gain access to ZNPP in order to legitimize the occupiers' stay and, in fact, to approve all of their actions.

Actually, the «loss of connection» between ZNPP and the IAEA was caused by the actions of the Russian occupiers, who cut off the Ukrainian operator Vodafone in Enerhodar with which the IAEA has a contract for data transfer. Currently, all data collection points and servers under the control of the Agency are closed and sealed. The information is stored on the server and will be transferred when Vodafone is turned on.

It is very likely that the russian side, with the prior consent of the IAEA, made sure that the Agency "lost control" without access to this information, and therefore the IAEA Director General would have a reason to come to the power plant.

The Ukrainian side did not invite Grossi to visit ZNPP and had previously denied him such a visit, emphasizing that a visit to the power plant will be possible only when our country regains control over it.

As far as is known, IAEA leadership by almost a quarter (about 100 people) consists of russians. Furthermore, even Grossi's Deputy – the Head of the Department of Nuclear Energy Mikhail Chudakov – is also a citizen of russia.

As a reminder, Mr. Grossi's previous visits to Ukraine failed to pay off. On the way back, after visiting the South-Ukraine NPP, he went to meet with the head of Rosatom, and together they «reported» to the world how good everything was at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.
