Elizabeth II's private secretary has described the last moments of the Queen's life

It has been more than a year since the unexpected death of Queen Elizabeth II, who died aged 96.
One of the last people Her Majesty saw before her death was Sir Edward Young, her personal secretary and her high ranking aide. A year after the Queen's death, he told the Daily Mail about her last moments.
Very peacefully gone. In her sleep. Without saying goodbye. Old age. Didn't realise what was happening. No pain," he reported.
Young added that the queen had had many visitors in her final hours.
The secretary set out his recollections of the corlew's final moments in a note now held at the Royal Archives and featured in a new biography of the king called Charles III: New King, New Court. The Inside Story, written by royal writer Robert Gardman.
It is known that King Charles learnt of his mother's impending death on a walk. The King and Queen Camilla spent an hour alone with Her late Majesty before her passing. Princess Anne and the Queen's senior costumer and confidante Angela Kelly took turns sitting at her bedside with the Reverend Kenneth Mackenzie, who read her the Bible.
