Former Austrian foreign minister praises winter Moscow, Polish prime minister responds


Former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl published photos of a snow-covered Moscow in winter.

Kneissl was head of the Austrian Foreign Ministry from 2017 to 2019. In August 2018, Kneissl's wedding was attended by Vladimir Putin. The Russian president danced with the Austrian foreign minister, among other things. She served on the board of Rosneft from June 2021 to May 2022. Kneissl left the post after the European Parliament passed a resolution calling on former European politicians to leave their positions in Russian companies, while allowing sanctions to be imposed on Europeans.
Karin Kneissl joined the Austrian government as a member of the Freedom Party. In 2017, party members made an official visit to Crimea.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki responded to Kneisl's post on Twitter, recalling how winter is spent in Ukraine.
