- During the attack on Kiev, a girl flew out of the ninth floor and survived: "In a second I was already on the ground"

There were many tragedies during the massive night attack on Kiev on 31 July. However, the story of 22-year-old Veronika, who miraculously survived a fall from the ninth floor, became a symbol of human resilience and incredible luck amid the devastation.
Veronica told her story to journalists of TSN. According to her, everything happened instantly: she heard a powerful explosion and a second later was lying on the ground in the open air. Despite the height from which she fell, the girl remained conscious and even tried to comprehend what was happening, being in a state of severe shock and disorientation.
I heard an explosion, and a second later I'm on the ground. I don't know how it's even possible, how it was possible to fly nine floors and stay just with a broken leg. I was probably really sitting on the bed and I just fell with it. And that's why I didn't hit it, because the bed is soft," she recalls.
Veronica was diagnosed with a broken leg and a knocked out tooth, but, in her own words, it was nothing compared to how it could have ended. She is now under the care of doctors.
There is no information about the fate of the parents
One of the most painful moments for Veronica is the unknown about her family. After the tragedy she has not been able to contact her parents and still does not know where they are and in what condition.
I don't know what's with my father, what's with my mother. I don't know at all where they are, what's wrong with them," the girl said.
On the night of 31 July, the Russian army launched a combined strike on Kiev. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, 317 means of air attack were used, including 309 kamikaze drones and imitators, as well as eight Iskander-K cruise missiles.
Five missiles reached their targets, one of them a residential building in the Svyatoshinsky district of the capital, where Veronika was staying. In addition, 21 attack drones were recorded hitting 12 objects and falling debris in 19 locations.
According to the latest data, the attack killed at least 8 people, including a child. 124 people were injured. Debris removal in Svyatoshinsky district continues. The fate of many residents remains unknown.
