The wife of the commander of the Azov regiment, Denis Prokopenko, Yekaterina, said in an interview with Suspilny that her husband was taken to Russia. She learned about this from the Russian media. At the same time, she turned to government agencies and the Red Cross, but this information has not yet been confirmed there.

I understand that Russia has now hidden the command staff, hides other soldiers and officers and does not disclose where they are, we are waiting for what will happen next, she said.

She also suggested that the Russian Red Cross deliberately does not disclose the details of her husband's displacement, as it is completely controlled by the state bodies of the Russian Federation. Speaking about the structure as such, Ekaterina said that representatives of the Red Cross are little informed about the condition of the fighters or simply do not want to answer questions from relatives of prisoners of war.

But questions of health, nutrition, food, conditions, torture, medical care - the representatives of the international organization do not have answers to this, although they must provide them, - says Ekaterina.

She also drew attention to the fact that the Red Cross worked extremely poorly on Yelenovka.

Why were there no representatives in Yelenovka who would have seen that according to the lists in the barracks there are no people who have been moved to this terrible barrack? Why didn't they watch that they were digging holes for graves on the outskirts of Yelenovka? To check the lists of the dead and wounded in Yelenovka, which were provided by Russia, it is necessary that some independent expert party arrive, which does not exist, - the woman noted.

According to her, representatives of the international organization only once showed their participation in relation to the Azov people - they were present during the evacuation from the plant.

Azovstal defenders were captured by the Russians after they left the plant in May. According to Ekaterina Prokopenko, now all actions to rescue prisoners of war are very slow.
