The number of people leaving Ukraine has increased


Most of those who left are women and children.
The UN refugee agency said that 3.8 million people have left Ukraine since February 24. About 90% of those who left are women and children. It is reported by the UN .
Of those who left, 2.2 million fled to neighboring Poland. More than 500 thousand made it to Romania. At the same time, according to UN estimates, about 300 thousand people left for Russia.
In total, more than 10 million Ukrainians are believed to have been forced to flee their homes due to the war, including almost 6.5 million internally displaced persons.
Recall, the White House announced on Thursday that the United States is ready to accept up to 100,000 Ukrainians fleeing the Russian invasion. While the White House expects most Ukrainians to stay in Europe to stay close to home, the US will begin accepting Ukrainian citizens through the Refugee Admissions Program and other mechanisms. The administration also plans to expand and develop new programs targeting Ukrainians with relatives in the United States, the statement said.
