"Chip" and "Dale" repelled an assault near Novomikhailovka

Ukrainian soldiers with the call signs "Chip" and "Dale" have told about repelling the assault by Russian troops near Novomikhailivka. The video was published by the State Border Service on 9 June.

Both soldiers come from the Volyn city of Vladimir, they became friends in childhood, together in 2021 went to military service on contract in the State Border Service and together fight the enemy in eastern Ukraine.

We were always together and then we were given the call signs Chip and Dale by the head of the outpost," recalls "Chip".

During one of the combat missions the friends in one trench had to hold off an enemy attack on Novopavlovskoye direction.

They took the position at night, but already knew that in the morning there would be an assault and expected it. We prepared anti-tank means and did our duty," says "Dale".

A column of enemy armoured vehicles stormed the border guards' positions that morning.

It was already light and we were told in the radio station that vehicles and infantry were heading towards you - recalls the beginning of the battle," recalls the border guard.

On the approach of the enemy to the positions the anti-tankers received an order to destroy it.

They went out and worked on the equipment with disposable grenade launchers and RPGs - said "Chip".

From anti-tank grenade launchers and artillery fire managed to destroy two infantry fighting vehicles. The enemy tank stalled near the positions, the tank crew and part of the troops began to flee.

The occupants' tankers huddled in one of the shelters, "Chip" and "Dale" began active operations.

We approached the dugout, where the enemy and offered them to surrender to what they refused. We pelted them with grenades and cleared them out," Dale said.

After the failed assault, enemy forces shelled the positions with artillery and hit them with kamikaze drones.

Even the fear of close combat with armoured vehicles did not prevent the performance of the task, because it turned into adrenaline and by decisive actions of the fighters of the state Border service destroyed the occupants.

Earlier Socialportal reported that in Volchansk border guards captured an occupant who had been hiding in one of the houses for 21 days.
